The practice of making amber wine (sometimes called "orange wine") originated in the country of Georgia around 4000 BC. These special wines are typically made from white grape varieties and they derive their unique color through extended skin contact throughout fermentation (just like red wines). At Mount Palomar, we honor this tradition while adding a new world twist to this beloved and ancient wine style! Our 2019 amber style Riesling exhibits notes of orange bitters, black tea leaf, and honey. This wine complements a wide array of foods and is best served at red wine temperatures. Available for a limited time only!
