Charbono originated in the mountainous area between France and Italy. It requires a long growing season that pushes the limits in its homeland. However with a similar altitude and our short winters, the varietal thrives in Temecula. The 2014 Charbono is softly scented with strawberry, cherry, plum, mandarin orange, sweet spice and sage.
This wine is very approachable with body that is reminiscent of a mature red Burgundy. The tastes are of bergamot, lemon, plum, cherry, mint, spice, and cranberry which integrates well with the tannins structure that peek-a-boos under a bright zest.
